“Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Montenegro, organised the 10th International Conference “CIVIL ENGINEERING – SCIENCE AND PRACTICE” (GNP 2026) in Budva, Montenegro, 4–7 MARCH 2026.
The conference presented recent achievements and the latest developments across a broad spectrum of civil engineering science and practice. It also served as a valuable platform for professional networking and exchange of experience in construction, as well as spatial, architectural and urban planning and design. With MORE THAN 120 PAPERS presented and OVER 200 ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS, GNP 2026 also hosted a special event the INTER-PROJECT COACHING SESSION.
During the session, the LOWCARB-S (LOW CARBON STRUCTURES) project was presented by PROF. IVANA ĆIPRANIĆ, who introduced the audience to the importance of developing and embedding such a Joint Master’s programme within existing higher-education frameworks. The presentation highlighted how a curriculum focused on SUSTAINABLE, LOW-CARBON STRUCTURES, supported by modern digital tools, advanced materials, biomimetic approaches and contemporary testing methods can strengthen current study programmes, improve graduates’ skills and employability, and better align higher education with green agendas and the evolving
needs of the construction sector.
The Inter-project Coaching Session confirmed the value of knowledge exchange among projects and partners, especially in the early phases when strong coordination and clear implementation logic make the biggest
difference. By connecting project teams within a high-quality scientific event, GNP 2026 further strengthened cooperation between higher education, research and practice in support of more sustainable and
resilient built environments.
